What does "Suspiria" mean ?

Okay so I watching that awesome old horror movie called Suspiria, but what does Suspiria mean ? I think it's German, because the movie is German but when I look it up all that comes up is the movie info, and nothing I've read has said anything about the meaning of "suspiria". Could someone please help ?
