I don't watch that show, but I'm guessing the reference to U-Haul is from a joke people have about how lesbians take relationships too fast:

The punch line means, they rent a truck and move in together.

While I have no clue as to what this L word thing is, U-Haul as I know it is a company that rents trailers and vehicles to people for moving almost anything, usually household belongings, from one place to another.
