Well the question is pretty self explanatory. What does "a work in progress" mean when referred to a person. My friends ex was texting her and as his signature he put "#1 best friend. she's a work in progress -desi" she still likes him and she's afraid he likes her. Please tell me what that means. She wants to know. Thanks! (:

A work in progress is something that isn't finished. In other words, one person is trying to train another to act in a specific way, but hasn't completely succeeded.

It's sort of a tongue-in-cheek way f saying she's not perfect. It could be affectionate or mean, depending on the context (which I'm not so sure I understand).
