Idea is a thought of something creative - example "hey! I have in idea! lets all go to the movies on friday!" or "I have this idea, I want to start a business selling t-shirts to pregnant women."
Ideal means like - Perfect for what you need. Ideal is almost like saying "perfect" or "thats exactly what I need"
Use ideal in a sentence - If some one asked me :"Kenny can you find the phone number for the nearest pizza place." than I say "Do you want me to just call & order the pizza for you?" That person can say "That would be ideal" or that would be perfect.
Like I can go into a book store asking, what would be the ideal book for my situation. Than describe the type of book i'm seeking. Ideal pretty much means Perfect.

An idea is basically a conception one has because of mental knowledge or doing something.
An ideal is like a conception of having a "perfection" or awesome standard.
The difference is an idea is based on things u know or from experience, and an ideal is thinking of a perfect situation. Ones concrete, ones not. That's my best answer lol.

Ideal: The ideal option for you to choose is to just stay at home rather than going out. (it's like the most favorite one)
