does it bother anyone else when people say "legit"? read!!?

im not asking does it bother you when people say legit instead of legitimate (although i know that does bother some people, because they are unnecessarily shortening a word)
i dont know if people are doing this where you live or in your school, but in my school, people keep saying "that's legit" (as one of those things that everyone starts saying like "thats beast") this bothers me because
1. half the people saying it seem like posers because they don't even know what the word means and theyre just saying it to look "cool"
2. the context they say it in doesnt even make sense. its ridiculous. someone will be like i like math! and theyll be like thats legit.
so today, i was sitting in tech ed and a girl at my table said "thats legit" to something. i dont remember what she said it to, but i remember thinking "wtf that doesnt make sense"
so anyway, the girl next to her was like "did u just say thats legit. i dont even know what legit means. what does it mean?" (i respect the fact that she was being honest at the time, even though i have heard her say "thats legit" before) and it was sooooo obvious that the girll who said it didnt know what it meant. she was just kinda fake giggling and she was like DICTIONARY.COM!!!! i was like wow. does this bother anyone else!?!?!?!?!

chill out. you seem like you've been reading a dictionary your whole life. everyone says legit. i have shirts that say it.

It sounds corny when my son says, "...as soon as I got home, I legit called him..." Why must he use "legit" RIGHT THERE in his sentence? He's my son, but that's legit lame!

When I think the phrase foolish I feel of my little brother making dull faces and spinning round in circles. But I would not name the phrase foolish disgusting in besides, while there are lots of different phrases which are worse.
