Hello, I`m Korean who is learning by TV series
however, I got very difficult phrase
that is "But anybody else"

please see below conversation

KIM SAIGH
Mitch, I've got you in a pretty vulnerable position here.

MITCH
It's perfectly fine. But anybody else

KIM is tattooist and she is doing tatto for MITCH`s skin

I guess "pretty vulnerable position here." mean
here is painful postion (is it right? )

so MITCH said to her "It's perfectly fine" -> I guess that is ok
( I can stand)

but I cannot understand what mean of "But anybody else" ??

I know "anybody else" meaning is other people

however, I do not know the exact meaning of "But anybody else" in this sentence

please explain to me

and thanks in advance

If it was anybody else but me they might be in real trouble. I, however, can handle anything you can dish out.

actually, "vulnerable" means "open to risk" as in a baby is vulnerable to getting sick if it's not seen by a doctor or a girl is vulnerable to heartache if she isn't careful about who she dates. In this case, she seems to mean he is vulnerable because Kim could possibly tattoo anything she wanted on his skin and he has to trust her to do a good job.

Then he says "It's perfectly fine" and your guess is good (he means he's ok with what she is doing), but when he says "But anybody else" that should probably have dots at the end "But anybody else ..... " implying/meaning "I trust you, Kim, but if it were anybody else but you, I don't think I'd feel as ok about this tattoo".

I hope this makes sense and helps.

It's an incomplete sentence

You have to fill in the missing words yourself

For instance

It's perfectly fine, but anybody else wouldn't get this close with a needle

it could mean that he trusts her to do it the right way and won't hurt him but if it was anybody else in a position that they could hurt him or do the tattoo wrong then he would not trust them to do it and would leave before they could do anything.
