Specifically, what would it mean if it's a forum about a product that is being sold, and someone says 'bump?'

Whenever you post in a thread on a forum, that gets "bumped" back up to the first page, it works like this so that interesting threads will stay at the top while other non interesting ones will get lost in the other pages. So when someone says "bump" it just means they're looking for more answers from other people, kind of like giving the thread another chance :)

Every time a thread or topic gets a new message, this "bumps" it up to the top of the forum, so if someone says "bump," they are putting your topic back at the top.

It's just a word to keep the forum going and active until an actual conversation starts.

It means they're trying to move that topic higher in the topic list so it will be visible to more people and get more posts. When someone posts in a topic it moves the topic higher up in the topic list.

Posting another comment bumps that thread to the top of the page.
