If it's a book or document, it isn't a P. S., it's an addendum (plural addenda), abbreviation "add."

Anonymous has it best: ps is 'post scriptum' meaning an addition, usually information. Found in communication forms, usually personal.

Addendum; add. Is additionsl information in a manuscript, study or report. It is intended to be more formal.

For a better understanding of the forms and uses of the latter, I suggest to look into research paper styles, such the APA (american psychological association) or some of the newer research paper forms.

It's "P.S." But it has nothing to do with "grammer," or even with "grammar."
