okay soo writing a novel and need to know what possible excuse could a person use for moving to another area when in fact they were actually attending rehab?
the excuse: my dads work moved is toocommon!

mind you the character is a 17 year old boy so obviously his parents who are very wealthy wouldnt want society finding out he had a substance abuse problem

then the parents can stay...but the son leaves



or parents making him get into some kind of voluteer program where he has to help poor people in a third world country.



or parents are making him stay at a relatives due to bad health

Maybe he got beat up or something and because his parents are wealthy everyone believes they are able to move. (his parents would have to be protective and loving for that to work though)

if the boy is in activities you could write that hes gotten really good or something and is leaving to train some were else. in the future he would tell people that he quit or is toning it down or something.

Maybe to attend an exclusive college-prep private school? Is he into any sports? He could say he's going to a premier ____ training program. I think it'd be accepted within the elite that someone would leave to attend something prestigious - academic, athletic, etc.

Better schooling. mabye the boys parents cant afford college so they are transferring him to a better school to increase his chances of getting a scholarship
