What is the difference between "creepy as hell" and "scary"?

The other day I showed my friend a video clip. The link is below..

He told me it was creepy as hell, and then one his friends asked, "Do you mean scary?" Then he was like, "Not scary, just....creepy....." What's the difference?

Creepy is usually just weird or awkward. Scary is terrifying or scary, basically.

creepy is more in the sense of ominous

scary is more in the sense of startling



but people react differently to different things so one could have found it creepy and the other as scary

I would say if something is scary then you experience fear. If something is creepy it's sketchy, makes you feel kinda gross almost.
