I am not asking you to do my homework, i just dont know what this question is asking. The question for which i am supposed to be answering in a two page essay is "why on earth does Rubashov still believe in the dialectic of History even when it calls for the firing of a bullet into the back of his own skull?" By the way, this is for the novel Darkness at Noon. I just dont understand what the "dialectic of history" means. Please paraphrase this question in dumber terms or help me in some way!
