The phrase is a metaphor taken from farming. When you sow seeds in farming you are tossing them out for planting so they will grow into a crop. Reaping is a word for harvesting a crop. Simply, it is planting seeds to grow a crop for harvesting.

The metaphor refers in the song (which I have not heard) likely refers to sowing seeds of wisdom, love, caution or some other aspect like that. So, the singer is saying that you do not need to pay attention to, or accept the words or feelings I am saying to you.

There are several scriptures about reaping what we sow. The one I believe you mean is Galatians 6: 7, "Do not be mislead. God is not one to be mocked. For whatever a man is sowing, this he will also reap." The next couple verses explain are actions produce fruit or results based on what our values are. Material values don't last and rot. Maintaining proper spiritual values produce results that last forever.

You reap what you sow. also As you sow, so shall you reap. (formal)

something that you say which means everything that happens to you is a result of your own actions If you treat your friends like that, of course they drop you. You reap what you sow in this life.

Reap is to cut down the crops you have grown so they can be harvested. the phrase 'you will reap what you sow' is used as a warning to live a good life or you will end up paying for what you have done.

You reap what you sow is Biblical and they that sow the wind shall reap the whirlwind.
