I have to give an example of common english words that come from the following latin root words...

auditum - means hear
dictum - means say
lectum - means read
portatum - means carry
therme - means heat
captum - means seize
fugit - means flee
micro - means small
temptus - means time

I have...
audio for auditum
dictation for dictum
portable for portatum
microscopic for micro

I'm not sure if what I have already is right or not. Can anyone give me a site that will help me or even just give me some words, thanks so much to anyone who can help!

auditum - audio, audit, auditorium

dictim - dictate, dictatorial, contradict

lectum - lectern, lecture

portatum - transport, portable

therme - thermal, thermometer

captum - capture, captive

fugit - fugitive, fugue, refuge

micro - microscope, micrometer, micro-inch

temptus - temporal, temporary

Dictionaries have the roots of words, but I don't know of any place you can look up the roots and find the words. 8^P You can look up any of these and see the roots.
