Could i use manifest in a sentence for an essay like so.....

It is manifested in Gattaca that it is better for a society to value the imperfect individual than to seek a genetic excellence

Does manifest fit correctly in that sentence.... like im trying to prove my contention that it is better to value the imperfect individual.. thanks

It sits awkwardly in your sentence as a verb, but I think would read better as adverb. So replace by 'it is manifest in Gattaca that.....', where your meaning would be 'it is obvious/clear in..that....'. Read this to yourself and see how it sounds.
