first off - i love that song!

here is a link to what people think..

this is my own personal opinion:

when it says

"The stars that pierce the sky;

He left them all behind.

We’re left to wonder why

He left us all behind"

i think it means that one guy falls in love with "miss murder" and people dont understand why, and he dropped everything and his whole life cause he loved her.

then i think she must have left him or something as it says "Dreams of his crash won’t pass" meaning he will be haunted for the rest of his life by the one girl who broke his heart.

this part of the song "What's the hook, the twist

Within this verbose mystery?

I would gladly bet my life upon it.

That the ghost you love, your ray of light

Will fizzle out without hope."

is saying that when you love it will always end badly, and the love is a "verbose mystery"

so basically, a guy falls in love with a girl and she breaks his heart. and the girl is "miss murder" cause she killed his "soul"? not sure if thats the right word

well i hope i helped! xo

it's about suicide... i think

"hey miss murder can i, take my life"

and when it says the stars the pierce the sky, he left them all behind... that part could also be about suicide too. that was my first impression when i heard the song.

it could be about love, but what really sticks out is the guy who is singing either WANTS to commit suicide or the guy in the story committed suicide.
